Rune Factory Frontier
I had lost everything:
My memory, a place to live...
When I was on the verge of collapse,
I met her.
She provided me with food, home,
and new memories...
However, she suddenly disappeared one day
without a single word to anybody.
That very next day,
I left the town behind to search for her.
Hello, and welcome to my play diary for Rune Factory Frontier!
After a couple of installments on the Nintendo DS, we got a very shiny version of Rune Factory on the Wii! The game was intended to be a direct sequel to the first Rune Factory game, but also disconnected enough that players could enjoy it without ever having played a game in the series before. Since the basic story of all of the games is "you have amnesia," this isn't too hard to do.
While the DS series went on to highlight tons of stats and leveling, allowing you to focus on any of a wide variety of aspects to building your character and resources, Frontier simplifies some of those aspects in favor of creating a more in-depth story and cast of characters complete with voice acting and anime cutscenes.
I've played this game quite a lot on the Wii, but I've actually never actually gotten around to clearing the main story! I've watched my brother do it a few times, though, and reached the end of the game myself. But as you'll see, there's so much to do, you could play forever and never finish the actual main quest, depending on what you choose to focus on.
