Well, I cleared Innocent Life... It was very... disappointing at the end LOL. Nothing was explained at all? A couple shocking things did happen though...

Poinsettias are OP! They grow back like every 3 days and I'm getting so much money from them... You don't even have to maintain them because they're flowers!

I accidentally ran the buggy into this weird little area and noticed there was kind of a secret path there? It's near the entrance to the cave where it opens up into town. Moonlight had another art piece there. This one was the weirdest one...

For some reason I was just thinking that Sunday was going to be the xmas party... so this is a bit longer "week" than normal because I have to wait for Wednesday instead. I'm still not really doing anything each day...

I remembered that art piece on the lake and went to go see it. You could walk on the lake because it's frozen now and it's HUGE. I learned that if you just stand still for a REALLY long time, Life has an idle animation...! He puts his arms behind his back and rocks side-to-side lol.

This was it, though...

The alien invasion ended up being Pink's grandpa summoning a bunch of aliens so that her Rangers district would have work to do because he was worried about her losing her job lololol.

Anyway, the xmas party rolled around. The making cakes with Dorothy just happened off-screen. Apparently planting the poinsettias meant there were enough to decorate not only the mayor's house but all of town and even Hope's house. Which made Hope feel good enough to come out to the party, and Gayak congratulated me on making him feel better.

I have no idea what the present was??? LOL

Lenny scolded Emma for not making her move and asking Million out. Lenny is worried they're never gonna get together and some other girl is gonna swoop in and snatch up Million. Then he "realizes" that neither of them are very attractive or interesting so it's probably not anything to worry about?!?!? Anyway I hate Lenny.

The Nature Sprite of Memories shows up... And decides to use his power to help the doctor stay alive. But it won't work for very long because he's already dying.

Apparently the three Nature Sprites were actually the Forest Spirit split into three parts as part of the punishment by the Water Spirit. By making the Memory Sprite depressed and separate from the others, they were pretty much powerless. But now reunited and with the Forest Crest, they were able to turn back into their real form as the Forest Spirit.

There was a cutscene for this but I didn't cap it lol. The forest spirit is a tree with a cave in it. Why.

Life found a Fisting Stick inside the talking tree's hole.

There was this like shell thing and I rode on it?!

I started finding lots of treasures inside so I decided to come back out and sleep so I could spend the full day exploring.

You had to push these statues onto these tiles and they filled up some pools, then you could ride shells around... The "puzzles" in here were like baby-level.

You could go outside (BTW I'M IN THE MERMAID LAKE TOWER LOL THE SHELL FROM INSIDE THE TREE TOOK ME THERE) and find this little beach with a treasure; I thought that was kinda cool.

There was another "puzzle" where you had to step on these tiles in the right order. The symbols on them represented seasons and you essentially had to press them spring->summer->fall->winter.

The hermit was inside and said I needed to place the crest on the altar, because only a human could return it, and that's why she was waiting for me to do it. But Life was just like "............" and she was like lol wtf yeah you're a human just do it.

No surprise, it worked XD Life has become human enough to count as human to the Spirits XD

The Water Spirit is this like messed up 2D artwork thing that there is nothing else like this graphically in the game... X_X;;;

Basically, I had to now find an Ice Grail to amplify the Water Spirit's powers so she could stop the Fire Spirit from being mad.

I went back home and put all the jewels on my farm to unlock the seals. I got enough to unlock the green, purple, and orange seals all at once... that's all the seals now.

I went to the two rooms on the east side of the ruins that have been obvious and visible for the ENTIRE GAME that were sealed with the orange seal. There's... nothing in them? They're like... living quarters??? What is this?????? Why does this exist????????????????? Why were they apparent and luring from the very beginning of the game????? They were both identical, too...

Fisherman was at the ice lake and just... volunteered this information for no reason??? I assume he's talking about Sharon, since Sharon got weird once saying I might have met people on the island? And the only other teacher is Bobby anyway.

I tried to go into the hole in the ice that the Water Spirit made, but she said I needed the Fire Crest first, and that the "green jewel was the guide" or something... so I went to that one green seal door and went in... it took me into the actual volcano. It looked cool inside but there was no real exploring -- it was completely linear.

It was a long way down, like 3 or 4 rooms... finally I got the Fire Crest, though.

Moonlight commented on Dr Hope!

I went back to bed since it was already evening when I was on my way back to where the ice lake was, and I didn't want to try to explore it all now... I didn't realize how short the next part was going to be, or I would have just went straight there...

It was just one little room and when I went in and put the Fire Crest on the altar, the Fire Spirit appeared...

He talked about how he was mad for a bit... then just said this LOL like no transition or anything...

Then the Water Spirit just... appeared and said spirit good not bad...

And then a black screen just... said the Fire Spirit is fine now.......................................

That................. is how it ended. No explanation of the disaster in the ruins. No explaining why Masami's ancestors survived. No explaining what happened to the Volcano People. Nothing was tied up it's just like "YAY SAVED ISLAND" .............

Then I was just... on that one weird "mushroom park" place, and Chuck gave me a certificate that said I'm a citizen I guess...

Though I do like that Life now owns a thing signed by Chuck XD

Then the credits rolled... Some of the panels had these little etches of Moonlight's artworks and I thought that was cute.

Then it cut to a scene of Marco wondering why his machines didn't work, and he walked into the cave and something exploded inside. TO BE CONTINUED MY LIFE! Maybe it's the alien??? XD

And yeah I'm super disappointed with how anti-climactic this all was? Like by the end of summer stuff was getting REALLY exciting then it was pretty much... nothing for the entire second half of the game, and then THIS was the ending?????????????????

I... really don't have anything else to say. The game was mostly tedious. I did enjoy the middle of the story a lot, but then it just died.

After you finish the story, you can load your game and continue playing. The Fire Spirit comes and asks you to plant a million crops or something, andt that's your post-game sidequest for the rest of the game. Other than finishing Liberta's dictinoary, of course.

But what I didn't realize is that the "Cool Pins" item I got just as I was placing the Fire Crest had to be given to Million before clearing the game, or you can't finish the little getting them married substory thing. It's just... permanently locked out. Even though they give you the item literally right before the end of the game so you'd have to for some reason decide to just not go forward and end it, but rather go ... give these things to Million when there's not even any indication that you're supposed to do that? I didn't even know what the "Cool Pins" were for. I only found out later when reading the requirements for getting all of Liberta's dictionary entries...

And so now, no matter how much I do, it is impossible to finish the post-game sidequests because I missed one of the triggers. So... I'm just done. Maybe some day I will play through the entire game again just for the sake of this one little item, but I really doubt I will any time soon. It's just... way too tedious. But if I do, i will add an extra chapter to this diary about the post-game stuff, I guess. I actually did start playing it a bit before learning about the Cool Pins and giving up, and it basically is just the Fire Spirit opening a new field for you where Marco's tunnel was, and you have to ship some ridiculously high number of crops from that field within one year. That's it. Also the alien moves in to one of those weird empty rooms in the ruins.

THE END. Sorry for such a boring ending; I didn't make the game, though XD Next time, I plan to do a Harvest Moon game that is a lot more interesting. To be honest, this is probably one of the worst ones. Thanks for reading, though XD
