Arcade
At the Tamagotchi Arcade, you can play minigames with Tamagotchi to earn Gotchi Points. Tamasutetchi presents two different games a day, and which two games you are able to play that day depends on the day's theme.
On Leisure Days, you can play Coffee Cup and Balloons. On Nature Days, you can play Fruit Fall and Rocket. On Sports Days, you can play Ping-Pong and Football.
The better your performance in each game, the more Gotchi Points you can win. Playing games at the arcade also increases Tamagotchi’s happiness.
In the Coffee Cup game, your goal is to spin the coffee cup ride just fast enough that Tamagotchi can enjoy the ride. If the ride is spinning too slowly or too quickly, Tamagotchi will not enjoy the ride. The longer you keep Tamagotchi happy, the more hearts will fill up at the top of the screen. The game ends after 60 seconds have passed or all five hearts have filled up.
The speed value of the ride is hidden and constantly decreases little by little. Swiping to the left will cause the ride’s hidden speed value to jump up significantly. When the speed of the ride reaches certain thresholds, it will increase or decrease in speed tier. When the speed tier increases, you will hear a higher-pitched tone during your swipe and the animation of the ride will start moving more quickly. Similarly, when the speed tier decreases, you will hear a lower-pitched tone and the animation of the ride will start moving more slowly.
There are four speed tiers to the ride. While the ride is stopped or at tier 1 (slowest speed), Tamagotchi will become bored after a short while. While the ride is at tier 2 (second slowest speed), Tamagotchi will stay content but will neither have fun nor become bored. While the ride is at tier 3 (second fastest speed), Tamagotchi will begin to have fun after a short while. While the ride is at tier 4 (fastest speed), Tamagotchi will become dizzy after a short while.
While Tamagotch is having fun after being in tier 3 for a short time, hearts will begin to fill up at the top of the screen. As long as Tamagotchi remains happy, another heart will fill every few seconds. If the speed tier changes to tier 2 by slowing down too much or to tier 4 by speeding up too much, Tamagotchi will be removed from its fun state and will need to return to tier 3 for a few seconds again before it starts having fun again.
The best method is to quickly swipe left many times until you hit tier 3. If you swipe frequently enough, you will reach a new tier every 3 swipes. Once you hit tier 3, swipe two more times to speed up the ride just enough so it is at the high end of tier 3 but not fast enough to reach tier 4. Once you are at this spot, swipe left just as the instruction example appears in the top left of the screen, and the ride will never get too fast or too slow. Tamagotchi will stay happy and all five hearts will fill up in time.
Because you can clear this quickly using this method, you earn more Gotchi Points per minute playing Coffee Cup than any other arcade game.
Depending on the amount of hearts filled at the end of the game, you will get different rankings and Gotchi Point prizes:
Hearts | Ranking | Prize |
---|---|---|
0 – 1 | OK | 0G |
2 – 3 | Good | 60G |
4 | Great | 140G |
5 | Excellent | 200G |
In the Balloons game, your goal is to pop balloons to drop prizes to Tamagotchi who walks back and forth along the bottom of the screen. Try to catch as many prizes as possible in 60 seconds. Press A, B, or C, to pop the left, middle, or right balloons respectively.
The prize must fall and tough Tamagotchi for it to be awarded; otherwise, the prize will be lost.
Pink balloons with a small money bag are worth 10 Gotchi Points. Blue balloons with a large money bag are worth 20 Gotchi Points.
After all balloons on the screen have been popped, they will be replaced with the next wave of balloons. The first five waves of balloons have one balloon each. The next four waves of balloons have two balloons each. After that, all waves of balloons will have three balloons each. The first wave of three balloons will be all pink balloons. From then on, five more waves will have one blue balloon and two pink balloons. The next wave will have two blue balloons and one pink balloon. After that, waves will have one blue balloon and two pink balloons again.
In the beginning when there are not many balloons on the screen, it is actually beneficial to pop far-away balloons and lose their prizes in order to allow more balloons to appear on the screen closer to Tamagotchi. This minimizes the amount of time Tamagotchi has to walk to get to its next prize. Once three balloons are appearing at a time, you can grab the prizes from left to right and right to left easily.
Although Balloons is the only minigame in which you can earn more than 200 Gotchi Points at a time, because it takes a full 60 seconds to play every time, it is actually faster to earn Gotchi Points by playing Coffee Cup as you can complete it and reach 200 Gotchi Points more quickly.
The ranking you get at the end of the game is determined by how many Gotchi Point rewards Tamagotchi caught during the game:
Gotchi Points | Ranking |
---|---|
0G | OK |
10G – 60G | Good | 70G – 140G | Great |
150G+ | Excellent |
In the Fruit Fall game, your goal is to pluck the fruit that Tamagotchi is currently requesting. Press the A, B, or C button to pluck the left, center, or right fruit respectively. The game ends after 30 seconds or when you pluck a caterpillar. If you pluck a caterpillar, your score will instantly become 0.
You can only pluck a fruit when it is fully grown; when the fruits are still small and green and growing, you cannot pluck them.
It can be beneficial to ignore Tamagotchi’s first request unless you have very good reaction time; usually Tamagotchi will switch requests right away, causing you to pluck the wrong fruit.
The number of correctly plucked fruits determines the ranking and amount of Gotchi Points you will be awarded:
Fruits | Ranking | Prize |
---|---|---|
0 | OK | 0G |
1 - 2 | Good | 60G |
3 - 5 | Great | 140G |
6+ | Excellent | 200G |
In the Rocket game, your goal is to fly Tamagotchi in its rocket as high as you can. There are two phases to this minigame: the first phase is the charging phase, in which you press any of the three buttons repeatedly to charge power to the rocket; the second phase is the flying phase, in which you swipe left and right to move Tamagotchi in the rocket to the left or right side of the screen to avoid hitting obstacles. Not filling up the charging power for the rocket or hitting obstacles while flying will cause Tamagotchi’s flight to become shorter and reward you with a lower rank.
During the first phase, repeatedly tap both A and C buttons back and forth with different fingers to charge the rocket as fast as possible. It is easier to do this than to rapidly press a single button with one finger.
During the second phase, watch for obstacles and then swipe in the opposite direction of the obstacle. Once you have moved left or right, you’ll never return to the center; however, while you’re in the center of the screen, you will hit obstacles on either side of the screen, so you should not try to stay in the center.
If you fill the charging power up all the way and avoid all obstacles, you will have the furthest flight, winning you the Excellent rank. Hitting obstacles or not filling the charging power will lower your rank. The amount of Gotchi Points you win depends on the ranking you earn:
Ranking | Prize |
---|---|
OK | 0G |
Good | 60G |
Great | 140G |
Excellent | 200G |
In the Ping-Pong game, you goal is to return the ball to Tamagotchi when it comes close to you. Instead of trying to “win” the game by making Tamagotchi miss, your goal is to serve the ball to Tamagotchi to keep up a rally. Each time Tamagotchi hits the ball, you get one point. The game ends when you fail to return the ball, you return the ball to the wrong side causing Tamagotchi to miss, or when you reach 10 points.
If Tamagotchi is on the left side of the screen, swipe left. If Tamagotchi is on the right side of the screen, swipe right. After returning the ball, Tamagotchi may suddenly switch sides, so be careful to swipe to the new side. It is beneficial to try to swipe early rather than later, as the later you swipe the more likely you are to miss. You do not need to wait for the ball to cross the net to swipe.
A good strategy is to remove your thumb or finger completely from the Tamagotchi House and place it at the bottom of the device, not pressing any buttons. After seeing and hearing Tamagotchi return the ball, then move your finger back toward the B button and quickly move to the proper side to swipe. This will allow you enough time to react to Tamagotchi’s movement but will respond quickly enough not to miss the ball. Practice the timing and placement until you find a strategy that works for you.
The ranking you receive and the amount of Gotchi Points rewarded is based on the number of times Tamagotchi successfully hits the ball scoring a point:
Points | Ranking | Prize |
---|---|---|
0 – 2 | OK | 0G |
3 – 6 | Good | 60G |
7 – 9 | Great | 140G |
10 | Excellent | 200G |
In the Football game, your goal is to score as many assists as you can by passing the ball to Tamagotchi so it can score a goal. Press the B button to pass the ball to Tamagotchi, which will cause Tamagotchi to shoot a goal. Time your passes well so that when Tamagotchi does shoot, the ball does not run into the goalie!
After each shot attempt, Tamagotchi will move and the goalie will become slightly faster. The goalie always moves up and down and will only change directions when it reaches the furthest point up or down. The time it takes to pass the ball and for Tamagotchi to shoot the ball is always the same. Memorize the timing so that you don’t pass the ball to the goalie. Since the goalie speed and Tamagotchi’s positioning is different every time, it’s up to you to judge when you need to pass.
The number of assists you successfully complete to Tamagotchi so it scores a goal will determine what ranking and how many Gotchi Points you are awarded:
Points | Ranking | Prize |
---|---|---|
0 – 1 | OK | 0G |
2 – 3 | Good | 60G |
4 | Great | 140G |
5 | Excellent | 200G |
