Tamagotchi Angel Care Guide
Welcome, Tamagotchi caretaker! Have you ever wondered where your Tamagotchi go when they die? Their spirits live on as Tamagotchi Angels in the Tenshitchi Capital in the Tamagotchi World. However, many Tamagotchi still wish to be with humans on Earth, and their spirits return to our planet. With the Tamagotchi House for Tamagotchi Angel, you can watch over a Tamagotchi in the afterlife and raise it into a proper Angel before it returns to Tenshitchi Capital in order to watch over the living Tamagotchi and help them in small ways.
The Tamagotchi House is powered by batteries, has a speaker embedded in it, has a touch screen, has a vibration sensor, and has four buttons.
The main three buttons are the face buttons below the screen on the face of the Tamagotchi House. In this care guide, we will refer to these buttons as the A Button (the left-most button), the B Button (the center button), and the C Button (the right-most button). These three buttons will be used to navigate the Tamagotchi House interface and interact with your Tamagotchi.
The fourth button is the reset button on the back of the Tamagotchi House, which must be pressed with a small, thin object such as the tip of a pencil. Be careful not to press too hard with a sharp object! When you first start your Tamagotchi care journey by pulling the tab or replacing the batteries, press the reset button on the back of the Tamagotchi House to reset it. Sometimes glitches may occur from fresh battery contact without a reset.
After you press reset, a spaceship appears from Tamagotchi Planet carrying Obaketchi, the spirit of a dead Tamagotchi, and the adventure begins!!
After resetting the game, either by pressing the reset button or pressing A and C buttons simultaneously from the Ending screen, you will be presented with either a spaceship from Tamagotchi Planet (on the English-language version) or a grave with a floating Obaketchi (on the Japanese-language version). This is the beginning of Tamagotchi Angel's afterlife. How you care for it from here on out determines if Angel returns to Tenshitchi Capital successfully to be a guardian of the living Tamagotchi or if it turns into the Devil World's Deviltchi, as well as what forms it will evolve into before its return home!
From the rebirth screen, the only thing that can be done is to press the B button to access the Clock. The clock is not set at first after a reset, and you will need to set it to grow your Obaketchi. Press the A button to change the hours, press the B button to change the minutes, and press the C button to confirm the time and start the clock ticking. If you want to change between AM and PM just continue progressing the hours from 11 to 0/12 to swap. After setting the clock, you can return to the egg by pressing the B button. If you reached your rebirth screen by pressing A + C buttons from the death screen, you don't need to set the clock again, as it will already be set for you.
While it is recommended to set the clock to same time as the real world, you may set the clock differently to suit your schedule. Angel will go to sleep at night, so you can plan accordingly to match your schedule.
Once the clock has been set, Obaketchi will start its journey to the afterlife.
Once your Obaketchi becomes a Ghost Jr., you can interact with it through the Tamagotchi House's interface. Pressing the A button will cycle through the selectable options by highlighting one of seven icons located at the top and bottom of the screen. Pressing the B button while an icon is selected will execute that action or open that submenu. Pressing the C button will cancel the selection process and make no icons highlighted.
To turn the sound on or off, while no icons are selected, press the A and C buttons simultaneously. You will hear a chime if the sound setting is toggled properly.
Clock
If no icons are highlighted, you may press the B button to move to the Clock screen. Here you can check what time it is in the Tamagotchi House. Press the B button again to return to the main screen to access the main menu again. While the clock is displayed, you can set the clock by pressing the A and C buttons simultaneously. While the clock is in set mode, you can press the A button to cycle through hours, the B button to cycle through minutes, and the C button to accept the current time and reset the clock. To change between between AM and PM, just continue progressing the hours from 11 to 0/12 to swap.
While the clock is in set mode, Angel's life cycle will be temporarily "paused." Angel will not age, evolve, poop, fall asleep, call for you, lose happiness, or grow hungry.
Menu Icons
There are seven icons you can cycle through and select on the main menu. Pressing the A button will cycle through them from left to right, top to bottom.
The icons in order are:
METER icon, for seeing the status of Angel. Press the A or B button to navigate between status screens, and press the C button to cancel. In the original Japanese release, the meter icon was the original Tamagotchi status icon.
FEED icon, for feeding Angel. Press A button to select between Pie or Candy to feed Angel, and press the B button to confirm your selection. Press the C button to cancel. In the original Japanese release, the feed icon was the fork and knife icon from the original Tamagotchi.
PLAY icon, for playing games with Angel. In the original Japanese release, the feed icon was the bat and ball icon from the original Tamagotchi.
TOILET PAPER icon, for cleaning Angel's poop. In the original Japanese release, the toilet paper icon is represented by the rubber duck icon. In the secondary Japanese release, the icon was changed to a flying butt with wings.
BELL icon, for praising Angel for praying or calling it back from a stroll. In the original Japanese release, the bell icon was the scold icon from the original Tamagotchi.
BOW AND ARROW icon, for warding off Gaikotchi when it is haunting Angel to make it sick. In the original Japanese release, the ward icon was the syringe icon from the original Tamagotchi.
CANDLE icon, for turning the light in the Tamagotchi House on or off. Press the A button to select between On (おん) or Off (おふ) and press the B button to confirm your selection. Press the C button to cancel. In the original Japanese release, the candle icon was the light bulb icon from the original Tamagotchi.
There is an eighth icon, the ATTENTION icon, which cannot be selected, but rather lights up to show that Angel is calling for attention. The original Japanese release used the attention icon from the original Tamagotchi.
By selecting the METER icon, you can check on the current status of the Angel in the Tamagotchi House. Pressing the A or B button will cycle through the pages of the status menu.
The first page lists Angel's age in years (才) as well as Angel's Angel Power (AP), or Tenshi Power (TP) in the Japanese version. Angel Power is raised by feeding Angel candy.
The second page shows Angel's Deeds meter. The Deeds meter fills as you praise Angel for praying.
The third page shows Angel's Hungry level. Angel's hunger can be any value from 0 to 4, with colored-in hearts representing hungry points. If all four hearts are filled, Angel is full, and the more hearts that are empty shows it is hungrier. Hunger is satiated by feeding Angel.
The fourth page shows Angel's Effort meter. Angel's effort can be any value from 0 to 4, with colored-in hearts representing effort points. Effort shows how hard Angel has been trying to be good, and is increased by playing games with Angel.
When Angel needs or wants something, it will call for you. This is a Angel's way of crying. A series of beeps will play (if the sound is not turned off) and the ATTENTION icon will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen. The icon will stay lit for fifteen minutes or until you take care of the reason Angel is calling for you. There are four possible reasons a Tamagotchi will call out with their own ways to respond properly:
- When Angel's Hungry level reaches zero. Feed Angel Pies to alleviate the call.
- When Angel's Effort level reaches zero. Play games with Angel to alleviate the call.
- When Angel has gone to sleep with the lights on. Turn off the lights to alleviate the call.
- When Angel begins to pray. Praise Angel to alleviate the call.
Note that Angel will still call for you even when the sound is turned off, so if you have the sound turned off, make sure to check frequently to see if you are being called by looking for the ATTENTION icon!
Care Mistakes
Normally, if you do not alleviate Angel's call within fifteen minutes, you will accrue a care mistake. The number of care mistakes made during each stage of evolution also can affect which form Angel will evolve into next.
You cannot "undo" a care mistake by changing the clock and then meeting Angel's needs.
By selecting the FEED icon, you can choose to give Angel a Pie or Candy.
Pies restore Angels's Hungry level by one heart. If Angel is full (Hungry level of 4), it will refuse to eat.
Candy increases Angel's Angel Power (AP). AP plays a role in which character Angel will evolve into. Sometimes while eating candy, a bat from Devil World will appear and try to take the candy away. Tap on the screen, shake the Tamagotchi House, or make a very loud noise to scare the bat off. If the bat successfully steals the candy, Angel will lose AP and the Deeds meter will be set back by 25%.
Selecting the PLAY icon will initiate the star game. During the star game, your goal is to have Angel jump over the incoming stars. Five stars will appear from the right side of the screen, and pressing the B button will cause Angel to jump. If a star reaches Angel before it jumps, or if Angel lands on top of a star, it will push Angel off the left side of the screen and count as a miss.
If the game is completed with two or fewer misses (three or more successful jumps), the game is a success and Effort will increase by 1. If the game is completed with no misses (all five jumps successful), Effort will increase by 2 instead. If three or more misses are accrued (two or fewer successful jumps), the game will count as a loss and there will be no change in Effort.
At any time during the game, you can press the C button to quit playing the game and return to the main menu. If you cancel the game early, there will be no change in the Effort level even if you already jumped over 3 or 4 stars in the game. After finishing the star game, the game will restart, so the only way to stop playing is by pressing the C button in the middle of a game or during the ending sequence when Angel is celebrating or lamenting a victory or loss.
Every so often, Angel will pray. After prayer, whether or not you have praised Angel, Angel will poop. Because Angel always poops after prayer, a poop on the screen is one way to tell if you have missed a prayer call.
When poop is on the screen, you can clean it up by selecting the TOILET PAPER (or DUCK or BUTT) icon.
Even if there are no poops, you may press the icon to wash the screen. Doing so will not affect Angel in any way.
At Angel's bedtime, it will immediately fall asleep, and it will awaken at its wake-up time. Angel will sleep in the middle of the screen with Z's coming out of its head. There is no way to wake Angel up during its sleep other than resetting the clock to a time when it should be awake.
When Angel first goes to sleep with the lights on, it will call for you. All you have to do is use the LIGHT icon to turn the lights off. Not turning the light off within fifteen minutes of Angel falling asleep results in a care mistake. You cannot turn the lights off early to avoid the care mistake; you must turn them off during the 15 minute period; in fact, turning the lights off when Angel is awake can be hazardous to its health. Leaving the lights off for extended periods of time can even cause Angel to die.
Angel will automatically turn the lights back on when it wakes up. Angel does not call to let you know it has woken up.
The time that Angel falls asleep and wakes up depends on its current evolutionary form. As a freshly spirited Ghost Jr., Angel will also take a nap for a short time.
Every time Angel wakes up, it gains one year toward its age.

Sometimes while inactive, Angel will go for a stroll. The screen will be blank to show Angel is away, or in the Japanese version, there will be an image of a door. Selecting the PRAISE icon and tapping the screen will call Angel back from its stroll.
There is no consequence for letting Angel stroll. Calling it back is just so you can see it again.
If Angel is neglected for too long or the lights are left off while Angel is awake, it can become haunted by Gaikotchi. If Gaikotchi is left alone haunting Angel for too long, Angel will fail in its mission and become Deviltchi.
Throughout its life cycle, Angel will evolve several times. After rebirthing, Angel is considered to be in its Ghost Jr. or Baby form. It then evolves into a Child Angel from a Ghost Jr., into a Teenager Angel from a Child Angel, and into an Adult Angel from a Teenager Angel. There are also secret evolutions that can change from an Adult Angel form to a Hidden Figure.
It takes 65 minutes for Angel to evolve from Ghost Jr. to Child. It then evolves to Teenager by the age of 3, and to Adult by the age of 6. The secret evolution occurs some time between ages 8 and 12.
In the Teenager and Adult stages of life, there are multiple forms Angel may take. Which form (or character) Angel evolves into depends on how you have cared for it.
All good things must come to an end. Angel will complete its journey in one of two ways.
If Angel was raised successfully and carried out its mission to become a proper Angel, it will return to the Tenshitchi Capital. In the English version, stars are displayed on the screen, and in the Japanese version, a "Thanks!" message is displayed.
If Angel is neglected and haunted by Gaikotchi for too long, it will instead fall to the Devil World and turn into Deviltchi.
There is also a rare secret ending that may occur...
From the ending screen, you can press the B button to check on the final status of Angel.
If you want to start over and rebirth a new Angel, you can press the A and C buttons simultaneously to birth a new Angel from the ending screen.
